PURPOSE:To speed up the A/D conversion by using the 1st, 2nd integration circuits, the 1st and 2nd comparator circuits and the 1st and 2nd pulse measuring circuits so as to store an input analog signal to the 1st and 2nd shift registers as high-order and low-order bit data. CONSTITUTION:An integration circuit 11 samples and outputs the input analog voltage, and its output is sampled by an integration circuit 12. Then an output of the circuits 11, 12 is compared respectively with reference voltages V1, V2 at comparator circuit 13, 14, and the time until a coincidence signal is outputted is measured respectively by pulse measuring circuits 15, 16. The high-order bit and the low-order bit of the measured pulse number are stored respectively to shift registers 17, 18 via digital counters 31, 33. The A/D conversion is attained while being divided into the high-order and the low-order bits in parallel so as to speed up the conversion.
