<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a semiconductor laser element due to surge voltage by connecting a capacitor in parallel with the laser element. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 8 is connected in parallel with a semiconductor laser element 1. The element 1 and the capacitor 8 are housed in the same package. When pulse-shaped surge voltage is applied to an external lead wire 5, the capacitor 8 absorbs surge currents. Accordingly, surge voltage applied at both ends of the element 1 drops, thus preventing the breaking of the element 1.</p> |
