PURPOSE:To correct the electrically deviation of position of each color sensor by forming a reference pattern on a prescribed position, detecting a relative deviation of the said reference pattern from the read signal of each color and correcting the deviation in reading both the signals. CONSTITUTION:One block line 16 is arranged at the edge of a platen face 14 in parallel with the main scanning direction M, the platen face 14 is irradiated by a light source 11, the image is formed by the 1st, 2nd 3rd image sensor 17, 18, 19, and after a read signal of each color, the signal is subject to a color mis-alignment correction circuit 10, from which a picture signal without color mis-alignment. Although the output timing of the image sensor corresponding to the detection signal of the black line arranged on the platen face is shifted, a signal from each peak point is written in a common address to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd buffer memories, and in commanding an address Adout read by the common buffer read counter, the signal is read while the peak by the black line being a reference line is overlapped.
