PURPOSE:To make it possible to discriminate the stock material of an alcoholic drink within a short time by using a minute amount of a specimen, by measuring the lasting time of an ion with a specific mass/charge ratio by introducing the alcoholic drink into a mass analyser equipped with an ion source. CONSTITUTION:The carrier gas, for example, AR supplied into an electrode 5 is excited by the discharge of the needle electrode 6 and cylindrical electrode 5 of an atmospheric pressure ionization ion source 3 to issue a specimen alcoholic drink from the leading end of a syringe barrel 4 as a liquid droplet to ionize said liquid droplet. The syringe barrel 4 is uniformly heated by a heater 11 and covered with a glass tube 12 in order to insulate a needle and to uniformly heat said barrel 4. The specimen ion is introduced into a mass analyser consisting of a quadripole electrode 9 and a lens electrode 10 through aperture plates 7, 8. Then, the mass spectrum of 1mul of the specimen from the chip of the needle 4 is measured about 30 times in total, for example, for 5min at 6scan/min to measure an average spectrum. By this method, an ion with a specific mass/charge ratio from the stock material of the alcoholic beverage is detected and discrimination is enabled with respect to a minute amount of the specimen within a short time. |
