PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a color code discriminating mechanism, a ribbon-feeding motor and a shifting mechanism for exclusive use for a color ribbon, by a construction wherein a color ribbon is provided with a plurality of color parts extending in the longitudinal direction and arranged side by side in the width direction, and a printing head exclusive for each color is used to perform improved printing for each width of exclusive-sue printing pins. CONSTITUTION:Of the total of 24 printing pins 13 provided on the printing head, the 1st-6th pins are used exclusively for cyan 12a, while the 10th-15th pins are used exclusively for magenta 12b, and the 19th-24th pins are used exclusively for yellow 12c. The 7th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 17th and 18th pins are not used. Each time the printing paper is fed by the height of 6 printing pins 13 relatively to the head 1 and the color ribbon 12 in one scan, a line feeding of 6 dot lines is repeated, whereby images in the three colors, yellow, magenta and cyan can be printed at arbitrary parts of the paper 14. |
