CLAMPING COTTER OF POLE WITH YOKE

PURPOSE:To equalize the contacting surface pressure by providing a noncontact portion at part of the bonding surfaces of cotters. CONSTITUTION:A pole 1 and a yoke 2 clamped by press-fitting longitudinally cotters 3, 3' having tapers to the bonding surfaces of a dovetail. Noncontact portions (a) having suitable width (b) and a depth (d) are formed at both lateral ends of the contacting surfaces of the cotters 3, 3'. A noncontact (a) is provided at the similar position at an integral liner 4. An optimization to equalize the surface pressure produced at the bonding surfaces of a dovetail or to reduce the surface pressures of the both ends of the cotters and to raise the height of the center by suitably varying the size of the noncontact (a).
