CONSTITUTION:A reflecting plate 11 for reflecting incident light at a prescribed angle is provided in the vicinity of a running path of an unattended carrying car, and also a projecting member 13 and a photodetecting sensor array 14 are provided on the side face of the unattended carrying car 10. In this state, a separated distance L of the unattended carrying car 10 and the reflecting plate 11 is derived by using a separated distance l of a photodetecting position of the time when the photodetecting position for photodetecting the reflected light by the photodetecting sensor array 14 in the course of running of a vehicle has become the nearest to the projecting member 13, and the projecting member 13, and an angle alpha made by the incident light and the reflected light by the reflecting plate 11. Accordingly, an actual running path of the vehicle can be detected without stopping the vehicle, and the running direction of the vehicle can also be derived easily by using two reflecting plates 11. In this way, when changing the running path, it can be executed by only changing an attached position of the reflecting member, and it can be executed easily.
