A gasifier for converting biomass into a gas product usable e.g. as a fuel precursor has a combustion chamber which is at least partly formed of or lined with graphite, preferably in the form of smooth-surfaced bricks, blocks or other shaped components. A gasifier for the same purpose can have a reaction chamber, where the biomass feedstock undergoes the early stages of the gasification process, and this reaction chamber is incorporated in a part of the gasifier which can be continuously or intermittently vibrated. |
