PURPOSE:To improve further the strength at high temp. and the creep strength by carrying out cooling at a specified cooling rate or more in a specified temp. range when a steel billet having a specified composition is heated to a specified temp. or above and hot worked during cooling. CONSTITUTION:The steel billet having the composition consisting of, by weight, 0.05-0.3% C, <2% Si, <3% Mn, 0.4-10% Cr and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is heated to >=1,100 deg.C and hot worked during the cooling. At this time, the cooling is carried out at >=0.5 deg.C/sec average cooling rate in the temp. range of 1,050-950 deg.C. Structural steel for high temp. use is produced. |
