PURPOSE:To enhance heat and light stability and carrier generating stability by forming a photosensitive layer cong. a specified azo pigment on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The azo pigment to be used is represented by formula I in which X is O or S or a group of formula II; a1 is H, lower alkyl, halogen, or alkoxy; a2, a3 are each optionally substd. phenyl, H, or lower alkyl; and Cp is a coupler residue. This pigment is used only as a superior carrier generating material, and another material is used as a carrier transfer material, that is, the azo pigment is used as the carrier generating material of the functionally separated type electrophotographic sensitive body, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be superior inphysical film properties, electrophotographic characteristics, such as electrostatic charge retentivity, sensitivity, and resistance to occurrence of residual potential, small in fatigue deterioration due to repeated uses, its characteristics to be prevented from heat and light, and stably exhibited. |
