PURPOSE:To attain reading with excellent resolution by sliding the titled reader to a device in a direction along with an optical axis of an optical system and locking the reader to the device at a proper position. CONSTITUTION:A projection 18 prolonged along the direction of the optical axis X of a rod lens array (RLA)6 is formed on the bottom of a base 4 of a reader 2, a concaved part 20 longer than the projection 18 in matching with the projection 18 is formed on an upper face of an installing member 12, the projection 18 is fitted in the concaved part 20 and the reader 2 is slid in the direction of the optical X of the RLA6. The member 22 to lock the base 4 of the reader 2 is provided to the upper face of the installing member 12 and the locking member 22 is fixed to an optional position within a prescribed range along the direction of the optical axis of the RLA6 with a screw 26 penetrated from the lower side of a through-hole 24 formed thinly and longly along the direction of the optical axis X of the RLA6. Thus, while the reader 2 is slid along the member 12, the reader is moved and locked so that the center position O of the RLA6 is parted from the read original 16 by a half of the conjugated length Tc of the RLA6.
