PURPOSE:To round both ends of an approximately oblong core part by previously providing sectorial intrusions to the side ends of a band-shaped metallic sheet in manufacturing a titled metal by passing said sheet between serrated gears capable of shearing the sheet, and rolling rolls in sequence. CONSTITUTION:A continuous band-shaped metallic sheet P is passed between a pair of serrated gears 3, 4 to notch 8-10 its both side ends. Next, a part 14 of the sheet P free from the notches 8-10 is rolled by passing it between a pair of rolling rolls 5, 6 to extend the notches 8-10 in the longitudinal direction of sheet P into gaps 11-13. In this method, the sheet P is first passed between a pair of edging rolls 1, 2 with vertical axes so as to sandwich its side ends between the rolls 1, 2; each of the intrusion edges 101a, 201a of the rolls 1, 2 has each a root of arcuate recessed curved surface, and the arranged in the circumferential direction at the space intervals equal to those of notches 8-10. In this way, the sheet P is fed to the rolls 1, 2 so as to conform its sectorial intrusions 7 to the positions of notches 8-10. Thus, both ends of approximately oblong core part 15 provided with gaps 11-13, are rounded. |
