<p>A discharge lamp apparatus is provided in which two electrode groups are incorporated in the ends of a bulb, one group each at each end, each group consisting of an anode and a cathode, the anode and cathode of a first group being connected with the cathode and anode, respectively, of a first semiconductor rectifier, and the anode and cathode of a second group being connected with the cathode and anode, respectively of a second semiconductor rectifier. Discharge is effected alternately between the anode of the first group and the cathode of the second group and between the anode of the second group and the cathode of the first group through a discharge medium contained in the bulb. The discharge lamp apparatus is a small multi-purpose, highefficiency apparatus which provides a large luminescence out put.</p> |
