Process is claimed for forming an antiiridescent coating between a glass substrate and a thin transparent over coating of e.g. SnO2, utilising gaseous reactants in a reaction zone through which the hot glass substrate passes continuously, esp. on leaving the melting tank, and after solidification, before complete cooling. The process forms a thin coating on the glass of material which reflects the far infrared continuously from a centre fed coating appts.
