PURPOSE:To measure easily and precisely vibration by sliding a magnetic recording medium on a vibration measuring head consisting of a piezo-electric element molded like almost the same shape as the magnetic head and extracting a piezo-electric effect voltage induced on the basis of said vibration. CONSTITUTION:The vibration measuring head 5 molded like almost the same shape as the magnetic head is mounted on the magnetic head mounting position of a cylindrical rotary cylinder and slided on the magnetic recording medium similarly to the magnetic head. The vibration head 5 consists of a piezo-electric element such as barium titanate and extracts a piezo-electric effect voltage induced by vibration generated in accordance with the slide with the magnetic recording medium by a pair of electrodes 7A, 7B through probes 8A, 8B and measures the voltage by a voltage measuring device 9. Consequently, the vibration of the magnetic head can be mimicly measured and the characteristics related to the sliding between the magnetic head and a tape can be analyzed easily and precisely.
