A description is given of a verge cladding for roofs, in particular for flat roofs, which is composed of a terminating profile which is fastened on the roof edge by retaining means and exhibits an upright leg which covers the retaining means on their outer side and a leg which is angled-off towards the roof surface and engages beneath the edge of the roof skin, and of a clamping profile which can be clamped onto the terminating profile and is provided with a leg which is likewise directed towards the roof surface and overlaps the edge of the roof skin. In the case of such a verge cladding, the upright leg of the terminating profile extends upwards beyond the point of connection with the angled-off leg and the extension, at its upper end, is bent off in the form of a hook towards the roof surface. The angled-off leg of the terminating profile is directed upwards in an approximately Z-shaped manner and has, at the point where it changes from the upwardly directed portion to the portion directed towards the roof surface, a hook which is directed towards the extension of the upright leg. The upright leg of the clamping profile, which leg is connected to the leg directed towards the roof surface, projects into the gutter-like opening between the extension of the upright leg and the upwardly directed portion of that leg of the terminating profile which is angled off towards the roof surface.
