Adjustment and measuring device (1) with hydraulic calibration for setting up and checking the packing of glands (30 to 36). When the packing of glands is set up, there is the problem that on the one hand, due to the internal friction conditions which vary from gland to gland, it is not possible to make a statement regarding the surface pressure at the shaft. On the other hand, certain surface pressures must not be exceeded. For this purpose, the invention provides a device in which a shaft (3) is arranged centrally in a cylindrical measuring body (2), with spacing rings (4 to 16) and glands which can be inserted into the annular gap between shaft and measuring body and with a gland rod (17) which fills the annular gap between shaft and measuring body and can be fitted on to the glands. In this device, measuring sensors (37 to 43) for the circumferential change are arranged on the wall sections resting against the gland rings. The device is suitable for setting up and monitoring glands of all kinds. <IMAGE>
