PURPOSE:To make accurate stratification in a low load come to fruition, by constituting a main suction passage with both primary and secondary suction passages, while making a sub-suction passage open to the primary suction passage at the same diametral side, in case of a device which aims at a stratified combustion with both main and sub suction passages installed. CONSTITUTION:In case of a device which feeds a combustion chamber 5 with a rich air-fuel mixture from a main suction passage 7, while feeds the upstream side of a main suction valve 8 in the said passage 7 with air (or a lean air-fuel mixture) from a sub-suction passage 9 and that stratifiedly charges the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber 5 with on-off control of a sub-suction valve 10 inside the sub-suction passage 9, the main suction passage 7 is constituted of both primary and secondary suction passages 14 and 15. This primary suction passage 14 is formed as its passage diameter throttled as compared with the secondary suction passage 15, while it is so constituted as to produced a swirl in the air-fuel mixture to be fed to the combustion chamber 5. And, the sub-suction passage 9 is made so as to be opened to the primary suction passage 14. |
