PURPOSE:To remove water adhered on strip with low heat loss without raising the temp. of a strip sheet itself, by providing a means for vaporizing forcibly the water adhered to a transfer roll, to a roll for transferring the water adhered on the strip sheet. CONSTITUTION:The water 6 adhered to the surface of the strip sheet 1 is transferred to surface of the transfer roll 2. Heat medium such as steam is introduced into the roll 2 through a service pipe 3, and a gas nozzle 7 is provided opposedly to the roll 2. The water 6 of the sheet 1 at exit side part to the roll 2 is decreased by the quantity vaporized by the roll 2, and said water 6 is removed gradually at every passage through plural stands of the rolls 2. Latent heat is taken from the roll 2 into the water 6 adhered to the surface of the roll 2, and vaporization is accelerated by a gas jet 4 jetted from a gas nozzle 7. By such mechanism, the water 6 adhered to the sheet 1 can be removed independently of sheet thickness. |
