PURPOSE:To improve tone quality of a reproduction sound by recording and reproducing PCM audio information to a video information recording and reproducing area at the 2nd speed when a head drum and magnetic tape are driven at the 1st rotational speed and the 1st drive speed, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An RF signal supplied to a reproduction signal processing circuit 24 is transmitted to an FM demodulator 37 through a changeover switch SW36 in the 1st mode, and a video signal is introduced to an output terminal OUT1. In the 2nd mode, the RF signal is supplied to a demodulator 38 through the changeover switch SW36. Its output is subjected to error correction, de- interleave, time base expansion, etc. at every block in a digital processing circuit 32 in the reverse of a recording sequence, and supplied to D/A converters 39-42. Data of each block is converted into an audio signal of 4CH in these converters, and introduced to output terminals OUT2-OUT5. When the PCM audio information is recorded and reproduced at the 2nd rotational speed and 2nd drive speed in a recording and reproducing area of video information, tone quality of a reproduction sound can be improved. |
