PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of yarn waste on cutting residual yarns, by means of a cleaner movable along a frame of a spinning machine, a residual yarn cutting device movable along a row of spindles and tools capable of engaging and disengaging with both provided thereon. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for handling residual yarns on spindles having cleaning pipes 40-43, hung to the side of a machine frame, e.g. a spinning machine or twister, and provided on a cleaner 32 running along rails 39 installed in the upper part of the machine frame for removing yarn waste, etc. from the machine frame by the movement thereof and further a residual yarn cutting device 19 movable along a row of spindles 6 and a cutting piece 23 capable of cutting a yarn connecting the tail yarn winding part provided in each spindle 6 to the winding start part of a tube mounted on the spindle 6. An engaging lever 33 is provided on the residual yarn cutting device 19, and an engaging pin 24 is provided on the cleaner 32 to make it possible to engage the residual yarn cutting device 19 with the cleaner 32 for movement in cutting the yarn. |
