AUTOMATIC MOISTURE MEASURING METHOD

PURPOSE:To make possible online moisture measurement by sampling and weighing a granular specimen, measuring the frequency change with a change of the detection temp. and dielectric constant and correcting the change of the weight and temp. of the specimen and the ambient temp. of an oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The granular specimen such as wheat or wheat flour is branched 2 from a transport line 1 and the prescribed quantity thereof is stored in a constant volume part 4, from which the specified quantity is charged to a weighing part 5 provided with a weighing instrument. The specimen temp. is measured in the part 4 and the signal detected in a detecting part 7 is oscillated by an oscillator 10 having an oscillator 9 via a line resistance stray capacity part 8. The oscillated output is counted by a frequency counter 11. The frequency difference between the time when the specimen is not contained in the part 7 and the time when the specimen is contained therein is subjected to the correction by the change of the weight and temp. of the specimen and the ambient temp. of the oscillator 10, by which the moisture value is determined. The moisture value when the moisture value converges in a prescribed range is determined as the moisture value of the specimen. The online moisture measurement is thus made possible.
