The apparatus consists of a container for accommodating warm waste water at zero pressure, in which there is located as a heat exchanger a pipe coil for service water which bears against the circumferential surface of the container and whose turns bear against one another, and in which there is also located a cleaning device for the pipe coil and the container floor. The cleaning device can be operated from outside, preferably by a hand crank, the flat container floor and the pipe coil simultaneously being freed from adhering dirt, since the strippers for the pipe coil, which have a profile opposed to that of the pipe, execute a helical movement upwards or downwards when rotating about the pivot axis of the driver frame. The heated service water is preferably conducted through the pipe coil by gravity circulation, into an accumulator arranged above the waste water container, from which accumulator, depending upon need, it can be extracted directly or indirectly via a generally customary hot-water apparatus. The water level in the waste water container is regulated by a drain hose from which the waste water can run off only above its point of suspension. The drain hose serves, furthermore, for rapidly emptying the container after cleaning of the abovementioned surfaces. In this case, the drain hose is lowered to the level of the container floor. |
