PURPOSE:To provide a titled nozzle which prevents the erosion by slag and extends the life thereof by attaching a sleeve consisting of low-expansion type zirconia which has high resistance to thermal impact and is impregnated with carbon to the outside surface part in the slag line position of the nozzle of a tundish. CONSTITUTION:The sleeve 7 constituted by impregnating the carbon to the low-expansion type zirconia having the high resistance to thermal impact is attached to the outside surface part positioned at the molten powder line of the nozzle 4 for continuous casting which is attached to the bottom of the tundish and is used to feed the molten metal from the tundish into a mold. The immersion and erosion of the molten metal powder are thus prevented and the service life of the nozzle 4 is considerably extended. |
