PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of wastes by a method wherein a liquid is added to a metal oxide powder, frozen to be utilized as binder and then, removed by drying after the analysis. CONSTITUTION:After a small amount of H2O is added thereto, a radioactive metal oxide fuel (a powder with the particle size of below about 10mum) to be analyzed is pressed into pellets and H2O is frozen to solidify the pellets. After the surface of the pellets are ground, the pellets are supplied for fluorescent X-rays analysis and then, H2O added is removed by a drying process following the analysis. Therefore, as there is no additives left in the residual analysis sample or there is no changes in the chemical form and little changes in the powder particle size, the residual analysis sample is free from troubles though returned to the metal oxide fuel thereby preventing the generation of waste. |
