PURPOSE:To realize recording and reproducing of maximum SN ratio against each of multiple track pitches by sticking together multiple heads with different windings via a shielding sheet and arranging the head gap on a straight line. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic cores 1 and 2 of to heads A and B with different windings 11 and 12 are stuck together via a magnetic shielding layer 3, and the head gaps 4 and 5 are so arranged as to form a continuous straight line. If current runs to the winding 11 of the head A and no current runs to the winding 12, only the head width WH1 is magnetized. If the current is supplied to both windings 11 and 12, it is possible to record and reproduce as a head of width WH2. For this reason, it is possible to record and reproduce at maximum SN ratio against each of multiple track pitches. |
