<p>PURPOSE:To provide optimum valve timing by moving a cam shaft to the left and right with the force of a spring and the centrifugal force of a flyweight, and by giving the suction and exhaust cams slant forms for the timing of commencing the opening and finishing the closing. CONSTITUTION:When the revolving speed of an engine has risen, the increased centrifugal force widens a flyweight 2 outward with a fulcrum (a) as the center, and the tip G of the flyweight presses a fixed plate 3. Because this plate 3 is fixed to a cylinder head, the centrifugal force of the flyweight 2 overwhelms the force of spring 4, to move a cam shaft 1 in the A' direction given also a rotational motion proportioned to the magnitude of said centrifugal force. Because a suction cam A and an exhaust cam B are given slant forms for the timing of commencing the opening and finishing the closing, the lift range of each of these cams A, B is widened to ensure that opening the suction/ exhaust value becomes earlier and the closing is delayed.</p> |
