PURPOSE:To cheaply manufacture an identical-speed universal joint, by restricting the spherical faces of an inner member, an outer member and a retainer by one another and removing the inner member and the retainer in one direction and removing the outer member and the retainer in said direction and utilizing investment casting. CONSTITUTION:The outside surface of the inner member 1 consists of a spherical face 1' and a conical face 1''. The axis of the conical face is made coincident with that of the inner member 1 and the vertical angle of the conical face is made larger than the angle between a driving shaft and a driven shaft. The inside surface of the outer member 3 consists of a spherical face and a conical face and the vertical angle of the conical face is made larger than the angle between the driving shaft and the driven shaft. The same number of recesses 2, 4 are provided on the outside surface of the inner member and the inside surface of the outer member, respectively. The recesses 2, 4 are inclined oppositely to each other. Balls 6 are placed at the intersections of the recesses 2, 4 and arranged in an opening 7 of the retainer 5. Thus, the investment casting can be utilized to manufacture the inner and the outer members at low cost. |
