PURPOSE:To obtain a high cleaning effect by forming a magnetic brush consisting of magnetic carriers electrostatically charged with reverse polarity against the polarity of toner on a non-magnetic sleeve provided with a magnet roller in its inside and impressing a bias voltage having the same polarity as that of the magnetic carriers to the non-magnetic sleeve. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic carriers attracted to the surface of the non- magnetic sleeve 3 are carried in the arrow X direction. The height of the mag netic brush is regulated by a doctor blade 8 and the magnetic brush frictionally slides the back surface of a photosensitive drum 1. Since the bias voltage having the same polarity as that of the magnetic carriers 7, electrostatic attraction force is applied to toner 2 on the drum 1 together with the frictional sliding force of the magnetic brush and the toner 2 is recovered into the magnetic brush. Since the magnetic carriers forming the magnetic brush have the electro static charge characteristics of reverse polarity against the toner, a high cleaning effect can be obtained. |
