PURPOSE:To provide a titled brazing filler metal which can be easily plastically worked, completes alloying in a short brazing time and forms uniform structure by cutting a clad wire consisting of Ti and noble metal alloy to a granular shape, subjecting repeatedly the granular material to compression molding and sintering then forming the same into a wire shape, etc. CONSTITUTION:The wire clad with Ti and noble metal alloy is cut to a required length to form the grains of the composite grazing filler metal. The grains are subjected repeatedly to compression molding and sintering and thereafter the molding is subjected to plastic working such as extruding, drawing or rolling, by which the wire, tape or plate-shaped blank material is obtd. Since the Ti is uniformly dispersed into the noble metal alloy in the form of the single metal, no intermetallic compd. is generated between the element in the noble metal alloy and Ti. The plastic working is thus easy and the brazing filler metal of any shape is easily manufactured. |
