A spectral photometer having a sample chamber (12) in which a colorimetric cell is arranged, and having a spectral photometer main part (14) which is arranged separately from the sample chamber (12). The spectral photometer main part (14) comprises all the parts or components of the spectral photometer with the exception of the sample chamber (12). The sample chamber (12) and the spectral photometer main part (14) are connected to one another via optical fibres (16) in order in this way to radiate light from the spectral photometer main part (14) to the sample chamber (12) and to transmit optical information from the sample chamber (12) to the spectral photometer main part (14). <IMAGE>
