PURPOSE:To obtain a wax for preparing a thermal transfer ink which has an extremely high pigment-dispersing property, low heat of fusion, heat- shrinkability and melt viscosity and favorable hue, by incorporating a composition comprising an alkenylsuccinic anhydride obtained by bringing an olefin and meleic anhydride into thermal addition reaction and adding a peroxide to the adduct to effect radical reaction. CONSTITUTION:The wax contains a composition comprising an alkenylsuccinic anhydride obtained by bringing an olefin and meleic anhydride into thermal addition reaction and adding a peroxide to the adduct to effect radical reaction. A 16<C, ordinarily 16-100C, preferably 22-60 olefin having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond in its molecule is used. Particularly, alpha-olefin, e.g., a mixture of 16C and 18C alpha-olefins obtained by polymerization of ethylene, a mixture of 20-28C alpha-olefins, a mixture of 30-60C alpha-olefin or the like is preferably used. |
