PURPOSE:To fully open the space on the upper side of a printer, enable a recording medium such as a thermal recording paper to be fitted and removed on the front side of the printer and enable an operating panel to be provided on the front side of the printer, by a construction wherein a printing part and a printing medium fitting part are incorporated and supported in a casing through a movable mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A frame 3 in a shape similar to that of a drawer of a desk is so fitted that it can be moved forward and backward on guide rails in the casing 1. A roll of thermal recording paper 4 is incorporated in the printing medium fitting part, and a platen 5 is provided between the paper 4 and a front plate 3a. A cover form arm 7 is operably fitted to the depth of the frame 3 through a support shaft 6, and a thermal head 8 is provided opposite to the platen 5 which is provided on the lower side. A heating element part of the head 8 is pressed against the platen 5 by depressing the arm 7 downward. The paper 4a is led out to the front side of the casing 1 through the gap between the platen 5 and the head 8. |
