At the gas outlet (14) of the gas conduction channel (10) of a gas scrubber, an annular demister (16) is arranged which surrounds the gas outlet (14). Beneath the demister (16) is located the sump (18) which receives the liquid precipitating from the gas conducting channel. The gas, which exits axially from the gas conducting channel, is radially deflected by a flow baffle (25) and flows radially through the demister (16). The liquid separated by the demister likewise falls into the sump (18). <IMAGE>
