PURPOSE:To make possible the exact and easy connection of an optical fiber for maintaining a plane of polarization and optical element by providing an angle matching means which matches optical axes to part of an optical connec tor. CONSTITUTION:A projection 3a is provided on the outside peripheral surface of a ferrule 3 adhered and fixed to the end of the optical fiber for maintaining the plane of polarization 1, in the 90 deg. direction relative to the polarization axis X of the fiber 1. The projection 3a is fitted into a groove 7a provided to the inner peripheral surface of the housing 7 of a receptacle B for mounting the optical element. Either of the X-axis light and Y-axis light of the fiber 1 and the specific optical axis of the optical element are thus exactly and easily connected. |
