<p>There is disclosed an anaerobic digester incorporating a venturi device (1) which has a venturi nozzle (3) through which sewage sludge from the digester (7) is circulated and returned to the digester (7). The venturi device (1) is provided with an inlet through which bio-gas is introduced into the circulating sewage sludge.
