<p>The fuel injector has a body (200) in which first, second and third flow passages (210, 212, 223) are provided. The first passage feeds liq. fuel in the liq. fuel injection mode to a first ring of outlet orifices (216) which discharge into the second passage (212). The second passage (212) leads to a second ring of outlet orifices (213) which are aligned with the first ring of orifices (216) and which are or greater cross-sectional area. The rings of orifices (213, 216) lie on axes which are disposed at an acute angle (e.g. 45 degrees) to the longitudinal axis of the fuel injector body (200) so that a conical discharge of fuel and air is obtained in use. The second passage (212) is an air passage, and the third passage (223) is a gaseous fuel/air mixt. passage when in the gaseous fuel injection mode, and an air passage when in the liq. fuel injection mode.</p> |
