<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety of air traffic by varying a warning air area into a specific shape according to the speed of an aircraft, and securing the time necessary for collision evading operation. CONSTITUTION:The warning air area is displayed on the display screen of an aircraft collision preventing equipment so that the minimum air area has the radius of 2.0 nautical miles centered on the aircraft; as the speed of the aircraft increases, a point corresponding to, for example, 2.0 nautical miles is set behind the aircraft and a point corresponding to distance L=50V/3,600 (V: speed) is set in front of the aircraft, thereby forming a circle having a diameter equal to the distance between the two points. The warning air area on the screen is varied according to the speed V of the aircraft. Consequently, a warning display meeting actual condition is made by adding simple software and the time necessary for air collision evading operation is obtained, thereby improving the safety.</p> |
