1317922 Reciprocating pumps and motors ABEX CORP 27 July 1970 [30 Jan 1970] 36319/70 Heading F1A [Also in Division F2] In a rotary cylinder block pump or motor with axial pistons 21 engaging a swash-plate 46 through slippers 22, working liquid is supplied via passages 39, 40 to a recess 41 in the slipper, which is dimensioned such that the slipper remains in metalto-metal sliding contact with the swash-plate, and one or more annular lands 51 are provided between passage 40 and peripheral land 42 to restrict the flow and dissipate the energy of liquid flowing from passage 40 to land 42 when a cavitation void occurs in recess 41 due to lifting of the slipper from the swash-plate. In Figs. 6 to 9 (not shown), a plurality of energy-dissipating lands are provided with alternately aligned radial grooves to provide a tortuous flow path. |
