<p>Epoxidation of water-insoluble olefinic alcohols (I) is effected by mixing liq. (I) with an aq. H2O2 soln. having a pH of 4-6 in the presence of an epoxidation catalyst (II) and a phase-transfer catalyst (III). - Pref. the reaction is effected at 20-75 deg.C and pH 5 in the presence of 1-10 wt.% (II) and 2-4 wt.% (III). The (I):H2O2 molar ratio is 1:0.5-2 (esp. 1:1) and the concn. of the H2O2 soln. is 2-50%.</p> |
