<p>The dialkyl thiocarbamates are made by (a) preparing an alkali metal xanthate by reacting sodium hydroxide, carbon disulphide and isopropyl alcohol under suitable conditions to form an aq. soln. of sodium isopropyl xanthate; (b) adding a soluble salt as catalyst, e.g. nickel sulphate, palladium chloride, palladium-amine complexes or similar; and (c) adding an amine in aq. soln. in excess of the stoichiometric amount.</p> |
