Packed rice food as a retort food is manufactured from washed rice(1) that is packed with water(2) and air(3) in a 1 mm thick thermoplastic film pack(4) having high thermal resistance. The pack is sealed tightly and placed in a container(7,8) having pressure resistance, rotated and heated at high temp. to boiling and cooled until the pack retains the same shape as that of the container.
