NEW MATERIAL:Compds. expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, alkyl, aromatic hydrocarbon group or alkyl aromatic group, R<3> is alkyl, aromatic hydrocarbon group or alkyl aromatic group, n is 1-3). EXAMPLE:1,2-Bis[3-(n-octanoylamino)propoxy]-4-t-butylbenzene. USE:A carrier for ion selective electrode. Especially when the campd. coexist with plasticizers and hydrophobic anions in a polymer membrane, they show selective electromotive response to specific cations depending on the composition of the membrane. PREPARATION:A catechol derivative expressed by formula II and an acyl chloride are reacted in the presence of a tertiary amine, in an inert solvent at -20 deg.C- room temp., to give the compd. expressed by formula I. |
