PURPOSE:To obtain an FRP item that is easy to handle when molded, can be large-sized, and can have a complicate shape, by securing to a shaft a mandrel comprising a thin-walled cylinder having end plates on the opposite ends, and filling the inside of the mandrel with a shape keeping medium. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel 3 comprising a thin-walled cylinder 1 having end plates 2 to the opposite ends is secured to a shaft 4, the inside of the mandrel 3 is filled with a shape keeping medium comprising preferably air or liquids, or low-melting point alloys, solder, paraffin, and others that are a solid about at room temperature and will be a liquid at relatively low temperatures thereby keeping the roundness of the cylinder, resin impregnated continuous fibers are wound around the mandrel, and after hardening and molding, a negative pressure is applied into the mandrel to remove the intended FRP item. EFFECT:The removal is easy, and the working efficiency and the product accuracy are improved. |
