The subject of the invention consists in producing a functional device intended for the construction without formwork of retaining walls and the like. It consists of a concrete which is consistent enough for holding without lateral formwork and without running, over a thickness of approximately twenty centimetres, by virtue of its quick setting in approximately thirty minutes so as to support a superposition of layers 7, 8, 9 of the same dimension until the desired height is reached. The consistency is obtained by increasing the mix proportion of sand and by adding a conventional accelerating admixture. It allows the mechanised, quick and economical building of concrete works with quick setting by pouring in superimposed layers of small height and at short time intervals. <IMAGE>
