A device for generating negative oxygen ions comprises, inside a casing 10, a zone 16 for retaining the polluting particles conveyed by the stream of air, a sterilisation zone 18, a zone 20 for filtering the ozone formed in the sterilisation zone, a fan 22, a zone 24 for creating a cloud of electrons, in which zone the negative oxygen ions are formed, and a zone 26 for accelerating these ions.
