Welding device for welding plastic webs consisting of a device frame, a heating device arranged so as to be longitudinally displaceable in front of the welding point and pressure rollers which are opposite one another, can be pressed against one another and are driven by a motor. To make possible simple and weight-economical design, each pressure roller (3) is driven by an independent motor (11, 12), which motors are connected to a separate control device (5) to obtain synchronous running.
