The invention relates to bubbling devices comprising perforated plate elements (1) and on to or below which perforations (2c) of the top sheet (2a) of a bubbling insert (2) are bonded, clamped or, preferably, welded. The plate elements (1) are preferably made by thermoplastic injection moulding, the perforation (nozzles 1a) being done simultaneously with the injection process by a core puller fitted with needle-fine cores. The number and diameter of the nozzles and the Shore hardness of the material employed can be varied and permit, for example, an air bubble bath mat to be adapted individually to a specific patient. One embodiment envisages that the plate element (1) be mounted so as to be exchangeable in an annular rose (3) which is in turn welded on to the perforation (2c) in the top sheet (2a). Another embodiment has two congruent plaque elements (1) which can be rotated relative to one another, as a result of which all intermediate stages from "full air bubble operation" to "small air bubbles" can be adjusted.
