PURPOSE:To enable a fixed document to be formed speedily and rationally, by a method wherein a manuscript is provided with a specified region, image information in the specified region is recognized, and a fixed form document format is selected on the basis of the recognized information. CONSTITUTION:Prior to starting a copying process of an electrophotographic device 10, information in the region 12 provided at a part of a business form 1 for indicating the kind of a fixed form document and for entering the number of sheets of copies to be made is converted into electrical signals by a photo-electric converter 4, and based on the image data, an image-recognizing circuit discriminates the kind of the fixed form document and the number of sheets of copies. When a code corresponding to the kind of the document is generated by a code generator 5 in accordance with a signal from the converter 4, a controlling circuit 6 operates a pattern paper feeder 7 so that a fixed form pattern paper 8 is located beneath a manuscript base 9 in accordance with the code information. Thereafter, the electrophotographic process is started, and the information 11 to be transferred from the business form 1 and the fixed form document format are superposed on each other, whereby a fixed form document can be formed. |
