PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of severing and splicing of films, in a taping device for severing and splicing original films, by retractably providing a bed frame having a tape roller and a cutter on a mobile bed which is reciprocatable widthwise of the film. CONSTITUTION:Upon completion of wind-up of a first film 4 paid off from a first reel 3, a mobile bed 22 in a taping device 21 is moved to a position A indicated by the solid line. Next a frame bed 25 is moved leftward to make a tape roller 29 and a cutter 27 into contact with the film, and thereafter, the mobile bed 22 is moved in the direction C which is widthwise of the film so that a bisurface adhesive tape 28 is applied on the film 4 by means of the above-mentioned roller 28. Further, the film 4 upstream of the tape 28 is severed by the cutter 27. Then, a new second reel 14 is positioned on a reel stand 2, and then, the leading end of a second film 15 is set on a predetermined position on the above-mentioned tape. Therefore, the mobile bed 22 is moved in the direction D to make the leading end of the film 15 into contact with the above- mentioned tape 28 with the use of a retaining roller 26. |
